The Queen is now a grown adult in her prime (→previous and following Queens). Wearing a modern Maltese lace dress (→2♣) she looks confidently at the viewer (pencil and digital imagery, 30x21cm). In Art Nouveau style, she is adorned with diamonds, indicating pleasure and recreation. She completes her outfit by also wearing an outline of a black hood, folded over the back to form a traditional Maltese head dress (għonnella or faldetta), a fashion relic that dates from the early 13th century onwards and which has not been in use since the 1940s.
